The Easy Way to Move Big Files Between Cloud Storage

So today, I took the backup this blog to my dropbox account. And since it’s is a good practice to have multiple copy of your backups, I decided copy my backup from Dropbox to Google drive.

The obvious way of doing it, will be downloading the backup from dropbox and uploading it back to Google drive. But obviously this is not a good practice, as this take time and eat up bandwidth.

Next option is to use online service. There are many services that move data from one cloud storage to other. My first choice was IFTTT, a popular service to connect various platforms. However I had to cancel it because it only support 30 MB file. (while my backup weight 700 MB)

After a bit of Googling, I found mover.io and it work perfectly.
Move big files from dropbox to Google drive

1. Head over to mover.io and create a new account. The service is free for personal use.

2. Once you are logged in, it will ask you to connect your source and destination account.

If you are using this service for the first time, you will have authenticate and give mover access to your cloud storage.

3. Next select the files you want to move and click on run.
Thats it. In no time your file will be copied.

If you don’t have plans to use this website frequently, I suggest you disable this website’s permission to access your cloud storage.
